There is a very exciting project at The Old Hall Ely, with 36 London Plane Trees being planted in honour of our proprietor Mrs Morbey’s 70th Birthday as well the Coronation of King Charles III.
This means a lot to Mrs Morbey as she stated, “This year two memorable celebrations for me – firstly the Coronation of King Charles and also my 70th Birthday. To commemorate these occasions, I decided to plant 36 London Plane trees at The Old Hall Ely and with the help of Barcham Trees and Brett Valley Landscapes, we are lining our driveway with these beautiful trees. I chose London Plane Trees in particular as they are a connection to Ely, with the oldest plane tree at The Old Palace in Ely and has been flourishing since 1674.”
