A note from the Couple
2 and a half years ago, we chose the 14th of July to get married. 14th because Zac Efron’s jersey was 14 and since then it was my lucky number. We chose July because my parents got married in that month and we were getting married at the same church they did. We also picked July because we wanted the best chance for good weather (little did we know). We chose the old hall because the moment we arrived there for the first time we felt the magic. We stepped out the car and Adam turned to me and said “we’re going to get married here” it was the first venue we looked at but we just knew.
We have been together 9 years and getting married in front of everyone we loved and celebrating at the old hall was truly a dream come true in fact it was better than any dream.
We didn’t get the hot weather we planned but we danced in the rain together. We laughed and sang at the top of our lungs.
Our photos have umbrellas, laugher & reflections in puddles. They are beautiful and everything we had ever wanted. Despite the rain The Old Hall was the most beautiful back drop and just the most amazing venue we could not have asked for more.
The Wedding Day at The Old Hall Ely
Adam and Georgia’s wedding day was truly unique. The Old Hall Ely is designed to ensure a magical day no matter the weather conditions, and this day really solidified that. At the start of the day, Georgia spent the morning in our Cromwell Suite getting ready with her sister, Maid of Honor and her bridesmaids before heading off to meet Adam at the altar in a local church where they held their ceremony.
After they said their vows with loved ones watching on, the party arrived for a drinks reception back at The Old Hall Ely to celebrate! Guests enjoyed sangria and beer alongside canapes including Mozzarella Arancini and Salmon Gravlax. During the drinks reception, the couple had a beautiful photoshoot with Sarah Carter photography to create everlasting memories.
Our events team announced the wedding breakfast and guests moved into the beautifully decorated marquee for a three-course dining experience including Duck Leg Rosti, Roast Chicken Breast and Warm Chocolate Brownie. Behind the scenes, the events team prepared the disco and organized the speeches who were held by the father of the bride, the groom, the best man and the maid of honour.
After the heartfelt speeches, our coffee station was open to guests before evening guests arrived just before the first dance and cutting of the wedding cake. The guests at Adam and Georgia’s wedding were vibrant and had a real party to celebrate the couple! They danced the night away on our starlit dancefloor, before enjoying our evening food offering of Fish and Chips.
