Our team of talented chefs have put together a one-of-a-kind menu, full of delectable dishes that will leave you spoilt for choice. 

Our Head Chef, Billy, has been at The Old Hall Ely since 2015, creating continuous show-stopping sittings for all of our wonderful guests over the years. With his choice of fresh, local produce, paired with his eloquent presentation, our Pasta Evening menu is one that is bound to satisfy your eyes as well as your taste buds!

There’s no better time than a special sitting at The Orangery Restaurant to catch up with your loved ones. Gather a group of friends, dine with family or enjoy a romantic date night with your other half.

The Orangery Restaurant is a special space of its own. Its floor to ceiling windows and bifold doors enable all of our dinner guests to enjoy stunning views of our grounds and the Cambridgeshire Countryside. What could be better than that you say? We are also lucky enough to have the most breathtaking view of Ely Cathedral in the city too.

The Orangery also adjoins to our beautiful Cathedral Terrace, which is the perfect place to sit out on after dinner and enjoy a cocktail or two as the sun sets.

What to expect at our next Open Day

Our entire team work incredibly hard to pull together our spectacular Open Days to ensure our visitors experience The Old Hall Ely in all of its beauty. Enjoy live entertainment, complimentary canapes and a glass of Organic Cava with your friends and family as the day unfolds.

House & Grounds

You will be able to explore our extensive house and grounds, experiencing everything from our House Bar and Orangery Restaurant, to an exclusive tour of bedrooms that provide our luxurious overnight accommodation. Plus, you can take a leisurely walk through our manicured gardens and around our romantic lakes, soaking in the picturesque views of the Cambridgeshire countryside, all the way across to Ely Cathedral.

For each Open Day event, we hand-pick some of the best suppliers Cambridgeshire has to offer to showcase all of their products and services. Meet some of the top florists,  cake makers, make up artists, photographers and live entertainers that will be attending, experience some of their best work, and you may just find the perfect fit for your special day.

Our Open Days are also a great opportunity to meet all of the friendly faces at The Old Hall Ely. As a family-run establishment, when you choose to get married with us, you become part of our family too! Our dedicated team will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have about us or our wedding packages.

Introducing Intimate Weddings at The Old Hall Ely

For some, their wedding day is the grandest affair they will ever throw in their lifetime. For others, they dream of something on a smaller scale but equally as special. 

The Old Hall Ely are delighted to introduce our Intimate Wedding package, which has been specially developed for those looking to get married with only their nearest and dearest.

 

About Our Intimate Wedding Package

Our Intimate Wedding package is an exclusive, idyllic opportunity for couples to bring their loved ones together at the cosiest time of year. 

We can offer Intimate Weddings between Monday to Thursday from October through to April. Our package starts from a minimum of 20 adults, with pricing options for up to a maximum of 80 ceremony guests (plus, an additional 40 evening guests).

 

Our Intimate Spaces

For indoor ceremony’s, we can offer two intimate spaces including The Main Hall and The Sitting Room. 

The Main Hall is incredibly warm and inviting with gorgeous oak beams, a grand fireplace and large mullion windows. This room truly transforms into one of the cosiest spots of The Old Hall Ely.

The Sitting Room is ideal for the smallest of ceremony’s and has a brighter feel with beautiful coffered ceilings, doors adjoining to our Stunning Topiary Courtyard and second open fireplace.

Both indoor spaces boasts lots of Cambridgeshire Country House Charm and with exclusive-use of our venue, your day really will feel like home away from home.

After your snug ceremony, your drinks reception will follow in The House Bar, The Main Hall and our regal Sitting Room.

Once yourself and your guests have had time to raise a glass, you will then move through to The Orangery Restaurant for your hand-crafted wedding breakfast. The Orangery is fully heated, with panoramic views of the gardens and lakes, with a backdrop of the Cambridgeshire countryside, all the way across to 
Ely Cathedral.

We truly believe autumn and winter can be one of the most beautiful times of year to get married! Whether you choose candlelit backdrops, or the glow of our open fireplaces, your guests will receive the warmest of welcomes on your precious day. 

Plus, our Jacobean Manor House and gardens are beautifully decorated during the festive period, with no less than 20 Christmas trees!

If an Intimate Wedding sounds perfect but you have your heart set on getting married during spring or summer, we have some availability to offer Intimate Weddings between Monday and Wednesday during the months of May through to September.

Styling a colourful wedding? Here's all the inspiration you need

The first day of summer has been well awaited across the whole of England after a wet and windy start to the year. To celebrate its arrival, we are sharing all of the bold, bright and beautiful inspiration around hosting a colourful wedding during the summer months. 

If you’re a colour lover, it only makes sense that you would want to be surrounded by lots of it during your special day. However, it can sometimes be hard to visualise how to bring so many contrasting colours together seamlessly. Luckily, Angel and Dan showed us exactly how to perfect the art of it when they got married at The Old Hall Ely earlier this year.

Having Fun with Florals

During spring and summer, the entrance to The Old Hall Ely is dressed beautifully in Wisteria, adding an element of colour before you even bring your own touches to your day. 

We believe your flower arrangements are one of the most stunning features of your day. Line the aisle, arch the entranceways and don’t forget those beautiful bouquets! For Angel and Dan’s day, we saw pops of purple, pink, peach, orange and white throughout all of their florals, which really helped to bring their vision to life. 

Table Toppers

Aside from the gorgeous floral centrepieces upon each table, there are some incredible additions you can add to impress your guests at dinner. Smaller vases, vibrant candles, pretty plates and luxurious linens can all be inventive ways to make your sitting stand out.

Pyjama Party

With weddings, it truly is in all of the details! We absolutely loved Angel’s idea of her bridal party parading around in their vibrant matching PJ sets the morning of the wedding. Not only did it set the tone of the day off in the right way, the array of shades made for the most fun group pictures, that will no doubt be cherished amongst the girls forever.

Bridesmaid Beauty

In recent years, we’ve seen bridesmaids move away from matching dresses to multiways and stand-alone styles. As you can imagine, the bridesmaids certainly looked breathtaking when they each made an appearance in their individual pieces – showcase shades of sage and olive green, mustard yellow, burnt orange, bright pink and pale pink florals. 

The possibilities really are endless when it comes to creating your own colourful wedding day, and if this hasn’t left you feeling inspired, we don’t know what will!

Our starlit dancefloor is revealed at 9pm with a professional DJ as your entertainment for the evening whilst you can enjoy our cocktail bar. The party sadly ends at 1am, with guests departing. The Sitting Room

The cosy sitting room provides functionality and comfort with a private feel. The sitting room has doors opening out to our courtyard making for the perfect breakout space. This room the ideal space to hire for day meetings, private working lunches or training sessions and workshops.

The Marquee

The permanent marquee at The Old Hall Ely has a grand feeling with immense views of our grounds and Ely Cathedral through the floor to ceiling glass. Hiring the Marquee is a great idea for any event, from large scale awards ceremonies, company parties, conferences and much more!

The Terrace Room

This room is an ideal meeting room to hire and is perfect for boardroom style presentations and meetings as well as private dining events. The Terrace Room is a private room with sophisticated interiors and doors that open directly onto our terrace, creating a fantastic break out area.

The Lakes is a multifunctional room that is ideal for workshops, meetings, private dining or as a supporting breakout room for larger events. With links to our Orangery and house bar, we can shape this room to suit your needs.

Our Grounds

The Old Hall Ely is set within ten acres of manicured grounds, featuring three ornate lakes and breathtaking views of Ely Cathedral. Our Gardens are a fantastic open space for team building exercises, summer parties or workshops.

We also have two beautiful terraces, each with its own features. The Cathedral Terrace looks out onto Ely Cathedral and is popular amongst our guests for hosting drinks receptions whilst our Topiary courtyard is also a well loved space for drinks receptions as it has direct links to our indoor spaces, creating a fantastic indoor-outdoor setting to host your event.
